All of Korea’s representatives for the 2023 Samsung Flower Farming World Go Masters have been selected.
The Korean Go Federation announced on Monday that the Samsung Hwajaejae domestic selection tournament was concluded, with nine players – Kang Dong-yoon, Hong Sung-ji, Kim Jeong-hyun and Han Woong-kyu – qualifying in the general group, along with seven players – Lee Dong-ki, Kim Nuri, Kim Seung-jin, and Kim Seung-soo.
In the senior group, Lee Chang-ho 9th dan took first place and qualified for the fourth consecutive year, and in the women’s group, Kim Eun-ji 6th dan qualified for her first major world championship.
South Korea’s Shin Shin-seo, Choi Jeong, Byun Sang-il, and Kim Myung-hoon 9-ban, seeded as quarterfinalists at the last tournament, as well as nationally seeded Park Jung-hwan, Shin Min-joon, and Ahn Sung-joon 9-ban, and Kang Woo-hyuk 7-ban, also went directly to the main draw without qualifying.
China will be represented by national seeds Guo Zhihao and Ding Hao 9th dan, domestic qualifiers Lian Xiao, Huang Yunxiong, Xu Ziyang, Wang Xinghao, Sheng Hao and Tan Xiao 9th dan, and Zhou Hongyu 7th dan.
Chinese Taipei will be represented by 9th dan Xu Haohong, while Japan will hold its own selection tournament on Dec. 12.
This year’s event, which will be the first face-to-face competition in four years following the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, will be held from Nov. 15 to 28.
The round of 32 to the quarterfinals will be played as a single-elimination tournament, and the final will be played in three rounds to determine the winner 카지노.
