Lee Kang-In wants PSG to ‘move on’, Mallorca to ‘relax’…transfer fee of 31 billion won

Talks between the clubs have stalled over the transfer of Lee Kang-in to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Mallorca are taking a very relaxed attitude.

“Mallorca have no intention of letting Lee go easily, while PSG hope to finalize the deal quickly,” France’s Foot Mercato reported on April 19.

“PSG needs to put more money on the table. Mallorca don’t have to sell him. They hope to get as much as possible from PSG for the transfer. If €15 million is offered, Mallorca will ask for €22 million,” he added.

Following a fantastic 2022-23 season, Lee has been the subject of interest from multiple European clubs since the winter transfer window opened in January. In La Liga, it was Atletico Madrid, while in the English Premier League (EPL), several clubs, including the Big Six, expressed interest. However, the move fell through when Mallorca declared him ‘not for sale’.

Lee’s performances continued until the end of the season. In 36 Spanish La Liga games (2,843 minutes – 33 starts), Lee scored six goals and provided six assists, the most minutes and most offensive points in a single season in his career. He was a standout in Mallorca. He was indispensable in the game plan. He was involved everywhere, on the flanks and in the center. In addition to his passing ability, he led the attack with one of the best dribbling skills in the league. He is second in the league in successful dribbles (90), behind only Vinicius Junior (112-Real Madrid).

At the end of the season, the negotiating table was set, and a move to Atletico seemed likely. Atletico tried to sign Lee in a ‘cash + player’ deal. The buyout clause for Lee was reportedly €25 million, but Atletico offered €12 million plus a player (Rodrigo Riquelme on loan). This did not satisfy Mallorca and the deal fell through.

PSG were then linked to the player and quickly reached a personal agreement. First, Loic Tanji of France’s L’Equipe reported on the 13th that “PSG and Mallorca are close to reaching an agreement on the transfer of Lee Kang-in. The player has already passed his medical in Paris and has agreed to sign a long-term contract with PSG.”

“There are still details to be resolved between the clubs, but the parties believe it is only a matter of time. The transfer fee could be as high as €20 million, including bonuses.”

Matteo Moretto of Spain’s Relevo said, “Lee’s move to PSG is very imminent. It is now 99.9% likely,” and finally, European transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano said: “PSG have reached a full verbal agreement with Lee to sign a long-term contract. Lee has completed the main part of his medical. PSG is working out the final details of the contract (transfer fee) with Mallorca.”All that remains is for the clubs to agree on a fee, which has been delayed. “There is still no agreement between Mallorca and PSG. It’s a complicated affair with several intermediaries involved, each with their own fees. 메이저놀이터 It’s not just about the transfer fee. Mallorca want to include a PSG player in the deal.”

PSG, however, were negative about including a player and wanted to negotiate over the transfer fee alone. Mallorca then raises the stakes, putting the price at around €22 million.

PSG want to finalize an agreement as soon as possible to sign Lee, but Mallorca’s relaxed attitude is preventing them from getting their wish.
