“We have to work harder,” says coach Kim Byung-soo after 4 consecutive defeats

Suwon Samsung head coach Kim Byung-soo expressed his disappointment after the team fell into a four-game losing streak.

“Everyone worked hard,” Kim said after the team’s 2-1 away loss to Gwangju in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at the Gwangju Football Stadium on Sunday afternoon, “but we had some physical problems in the second half,” he said.

Suwon finished the first half with a one-goal lead thanks to Ahn Byung-jun’s fourth goal of the season in the 40th minute. However, back-to-back goals from Thomas in the 23rd and 45th minutes of the second half resulted in a fourth straight loss. 안전놀이터

Coach Kim said, “It’s true that we are lacking weight up front. It would have been nice to make a substitution, but we didn’t have enough resources. We tried to hold on until the end, but we conceded. In the second half, our physical strength went down and we couldn’t execute an effective counter attack.”

Suwon fans shouted “Wake up, Suwon!” as they greeted the players after the game. Coach Kim said, “We were strongly reprimanded by the fans who came all the way to support us. I think the players need to work harder,” Kim said.

Suwon will host Incheon on Nov. 11 for the 18th round.
