Liam Hendricks (34), a Chicago White Sox closer who suffered from blood cancer, is back in good health.
MLB.com said on the 29th (Korean time), “Hendricks will return through a minor league game on the first weekend of May.”
Hendricks plans to return to the big leagues when he is evaluated for evaluating his pitch after checking his physical condition in the minor leagues.
Closer Hendricks, who posted a 2.81 ERA with 4 wins, 4 losses and 37 saves last season, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in January.
He focused on chemotherapy and recently announced on his social media account that he had been fully recovered.
Hendricks is known to have digested light training while receiving treatment. ㅋㅋㅋ벳
MLB.com said, “Hendricks trained like a long toss, and even threw one or two bullpens.”
The addition of Hendricks is expected to be a big boost to the White Sox. The White Sox are 7-20 this season with an odds ratio of 0.259 and are in fourth place in the Central Division of the American League.
On this day, they lost 2-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays and fell into a 9-game losing streak.
